1.8 16v 306 Engine 65k Miles

Can anyone shed any light on this model engine, ie any good and any potential for a hillclimb engine on 45 webers with some head work and a good set of cams?!

 

what do you reckon?! what block/bhp etc is it

it'll be the XU7J4, 115 bhp as standard, but with good potential if being worked over extensively, as sandy has proven with Dixon's engine build.

 

quite a bit of info already on the forum about it :P

i assume the internal of this block can be fitted into a XU9 block and still have the XU7 16v fitted too?! (just to keep within msa regs)

 

so if i were to get this engine and keep it as project..........?!

what sort of budget would you need to get a competitive engine do you think!?
