tom_m 0 Posted August 31, 2008 yup, later manifolds had more strengthening than the early ones. plus most are a good few years old now.
Guest lynns_GTI Posted August 31, 2008 so would it be wise to go for a stainless steel or stick with a standard one.
Tom Fenton 1,548 Posted August 31, 2008 Either are viable options, the standard one will be cheaper and a straightforward swap. The stainless ones made by Magnex are nicely made, but more awkward to fit, and don't really give a power increase either. Personally I'd probably replace with standard, but the choice is up to you. pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted September 2, 2008 Vey common, finding one without a crack is probably harder than one with. The exhaust manifold from the later XU10 2.0 8v engine will fit straight on. Replace with standard, just make sure your garage use genuine Pug gaskests for the manifold to head & manifold to downpipe. Fitting a Magnex stainless one would mean you'll need the whole system & Magnex have now gone bust the lifetime warrenty is worthless imo. Graham.
