shalmaneser 26 Posted August 29, 2008 Hi guys, just want to pick your collective brains about a couple of things. First, is the magnex mani suitable for both engine? I guess it is but I'd like it confirmed. How much of a PITA are they to fit - is it a subframe off job? second, how do you boys with power steering deal with fitting K&N induction kits? It looks like you can get a nice straight intake run with non power steering, but if you do have PS then the reservoir gets in the way. Can it be relocated - or is it battery in the boot time? further to the induction kit stuff, everyone knows under bonnet temps are fairly high, does anyone have any neat DIY solutions to getting some nice cool air into my mill? Thanks in advance!
Peetypug 5 Posted August 29, 2008 the manifold does fit both engines, when i fitted mine i had to take all the mounts off. I then lowered the engine on a jack and rolled it slightly forward. It was still a pain in the arse to get in but it did go. I moved my power steering bottle to the back of the engine bay and fitter a none power steering bhp filter
Minsc 0 Posted August 30, 2008 There is a K&N kit to use with power steering. I use it in my 205. You can see it here: http://es.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=51wxlk&s=
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted August 30, 2008 Waste of time and money imo in getting either the magnex or the air filter. The manifolds are a pain in the arse and often the welds break, you wont see any power gains either so i'd stick with standard or a group n. Air filter the only benefit is there are less pipes in the engine bay, the standard filter is perfectly adequate.
