Guest old64er Posted August 29, 2008 What is the general concensus on rear ride height? I have removed all the rear seats, belts, trim etc and now the car seems jacked up after the removal of the weight. I will be doing some track work and maybe 2/3k miles a year on the road but dont want it scraping on the floor. I have just stripped the back down and cleaned/WD'd all the retaining bolts etc to lower the car tommorow after fitting new bearings/brakes and cables. At the minute it seems to have a gap of 80/90mm (aprox) from the top of the tyre to the bottom of the plastic arch at the centre line of the arch. Will i need to drop it 2 splines?. I will also be fitting black bilsteins to the back. Any help will be appreciated Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted August 29, 2008 Don't lower it by splines, this really limits your choice of ride height. Extract the torsion bars both ends, there are a different no of splines on each end. By setting the trailing arm you can then move the torsion bar round to seat home, and achieve virtually any ride height change you wish. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted August 29, 2008 For a car a bit lower without being daft try 315mm centres. However once it has been apart once, it wil come apart much more easily the second time if you decide you don't like the ride height and want to alter it.
