Masekwm 2 Posted August 27, 2008 Hello, Tomorrow I have to change the long driveshaft, please could someone confirm that the process is as follows... 1. Undo hub nut and remove shaft from hub. 2. Place container under diff housing 3. Undo hockey bolt things 4. Remove driveshaft 5. Fit new shaft, redo hockey bolts and top up gearbox oil. I remember it all going wrong on my 1.6, so want to get it right this time. Thanks Keith
jackherer 543 Posted August 27, 2008 1.5. Undo and remove wishbone ball joint bolt and disengage ball joint from hub. Its probably a good idea to fit a new driveshaft oil seal too.
Masekwm 2 Posted August 28, 2008 Cheers chap had forgotten about the lower arm. Old shaft is out, off to purchase exchange unit and hopefully that'll be my car finally fixed

Masekwm 2 Posted August 28, 2008 Must be mot time for HLG then! Yeah, it's been off the road since July due to a vibration through the steering, hoping it's the inner CV as it looks like it's past it, and I've changed everything else. Best laid plans are ruined as the one in stock at GSF turns out to have been fitted previously
