Anulfo 22 Posted August 27, 2008 I have just purchased a gearbox for my 205 but this is a B1 gearbox and the gearbx i am rmoving is a BE3 (reverse back and to right). Can i modify the box in any way or do i need to change the gear lever and linkage n my original car? Please let me now if there are anyways i can go about this. evojay71 0 Posted August 27, 2008 The only issue I know of is you need to get hold of the revese selector cable which fits into the box casing and the tube that fits over the gearstick,as on the be1 box you lift the tube to engage reverse. I'm sure i've seen the cable you need on ebay at the mo.

I'm sure i've seen the cable you need on ebay at the mo. And the gearstick and metal boot surround that bolts to the floor as it has a bit that retains the lifter cable (or at least allows it to pass underneath without squashing it?) Ideally the clutch cable and pedal from a BE1 car, too - although IIRC you can space the adjuster nuts on the cable when fitting BE1 to a # equipped car. Most important is a little (70mm x 6mm dia , I think) rod that fits between the clutch arms (edit - you also need a BE1 thrust bearing ) Edited August 27, 2008 by steve@cornwall
