Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge

That's an electric one looking at it

Look at Thinkauto.com or something, the take off you want is the M10 threaded one.

i'd go for an electrical gauge as I don't like the idea of the pipe wearing and blowing oil into the car really plus its all just wires no tubing to run through the bulkhead. :D

Not just risk of hot oil in your face, if it wears/melts in the engine bay and sprays oil on something hot, you'll struggle to put it out before it's cost you nearly 4 figures

I got a Sunpro gauge brand new for next to nothing from ebay US. I used a braided hose too.

so how much more accurate are electrical gauges than the standard gauge in the dash?

i presume an electrical gauge would use the same sender as the standard one too?

Jackherer - where did you get the braided hose from?

Thanks, Dean

I run mechanical, and can say that it makes the std gauge seem half awake, you can have a drop of over a bar and back up on the mech gauge and the std gauge hasn't even moved. :)

http://www.hosequip.com/

They are just an agricultural hydraulic hose supplier located on a farm near me, if you can find something similar near you they should be able to supply custom made automotive stuff for less than a motorsport outlet as long as you can describe exactly what fittings you need.

A cheap gauge may use the standard sender but its unlikely to be the correct calibration, also I suspect the standard sender is part of the problem with the standard gauge, i.e. its slow to react. I have a digital SPA gauge in another 205 that comes with its own sender.

Mine is mechanical too & I would agree that if you want to see the instant drops & rises in pressure then mechanical is the way to go....
