Out working on my 205 when 2 guys walk past "alright mate?". We get chatting, it's a young guy and his dad. They've admired the 205 and turns out he owns a Sapphire cossie that I've seen around and admired (very tidy). Turns out it's the same guy who stopped for a chat over a year ago and left me a twin fan set up he had left over from his 309.

So it's nice to have a chat with some decent guys.

Then the father says "oh, has someone driven in to you?"

I'm just about to say "nah, it's just adirty mark", then I realise it looks more like a scuff.......then a dent

Some prick has driven into my front nearside wing. Dented it in at 12 O'Clock on the arch trim, and dented it juts lower near the door. Would probably have been much worse had I not got my wheels at full lock, as I can see where they've scuffed the tyre. They are only shallow dents but too angular to push/pull out I'd think.

Needless to say I'm very f***ed off right now.

That's a sh1tter Steve. Gutted for you.

Someone has put a couple of dents in my new bonnet in the last few weeks - looks like it's been sat on or something dropped on it.

It's so frustrating, but giving up means the barstewards have won..

Thanks for the words of support Rich. I'm finding it difficult enough to motivate myself as it is, and this just makes it worse. I was all fired up to spend a few hours each night this week doing bits and bobs, and after just 30 minutes, finding this, I now feel utterly deflated again.

I know exactly where you're coming from on this subject, Steve. There's so many people in the world that dont give two flying fcuks about anyone else. When something like this happens they scarper and hope no one noticed.

Im talking from experience, in the last year I have had four dents put in my cars, two on the 205 and two on the fiesta (which is a dog anyway but its the principle of the matter). The 205 has had a dent on the front wing (too big to push out), and there is a mysterious 'cave' in the 3/4 panel below the trim which can be seen in this photo.

Im 90% sure that these knocks were all the work of neighbours. If they were to knock on the door and confess, I'd obviously deal with it in a polite manner. But when they carry on as if nothing has happened or with the mentality 'Oh, it's an old car, it's not worth much, doesn't matter', it really gets my back up. They know i like to look after my car by the amount of time i spend cleaning it! Now iv got spend my hard earned money, on getting it sorted. C*nts!!

Is it actually possible to keep a car in good condition??

Keep going though GLP, soon enough you'll be back in high hopes (once you've found the culprit, and posted a petrol bomb through their letterbox!)

Come on Steve, pull your bloody finger out, I didn't stand and replace bushes on your wishbones for the fun of it, get cracking on the damn thing and get it back driving, you will soon love it again then, dent or no dent.

Bad news that, but you can do it GLP. Thats the good thing about this forum, if anybody has a problem, somebody, somewhere will offer words of wisdom and guidance . Even the forum c*nt gets umpteen offers of help. ;)

Jimi :)

Sorry to hear of the plague of tw@ts, Steve - can you get a pic up? sounds like it may be a light push from the front - tends to distort the wing ahead of where it's sealed to the arch (as you say, about 12.00 on the arch trim) If so it's surprising what a sharp rope tug on the towing eye with another vehicle will cure

I'm fairly sure it was one of the local vans that did it, in fact it's what the bloke said to me straight away. But I can't prove it. There's a parking space across from me where a big flat bed parks, out the back of some s*itty old DIY store that looks more like the home of Mr Trebus. So he's either backed in to me, or swung around and the back has clipped me.

If he did notice, I'm sure he would have thought "oh well, f***ing dirty piece of crap has been sat there for a year and will probably be scrapped once the tax runs out", but that's not the point.

I had a massive dent put in my old Civic just likes yours, Pete. The shape of the rear quarters on 4g Civics made it difficult to spot at first, so no idea how long it was there before I noticed. I even wondered if I'd overlooked it when I bought the car. But no, it was massive, and someone must have done it on my street (when I lived in Edinburgh) as I used to park on the corner at the end of the road, and you'd often have near misses between oncoming cars at the bend.

It's sort of weird and bizarre though. My first GTI was a white '89 1.6 which I was going to stick an Mi in, but then moved up Scotland and plans changed. I managed to stick a big dent in the offside wing on that one in the same place. Now, my 4th GTI, is a white '89 1.6 with an Mi in it, and now has a similar dent in the nearside wing.

Oh, and Kriss, if you are reading this, good on you for owning up to scratching that Saxo the other day. You are a rare breed.

Obviously this was a bit more extreme....... Luckily this tw@t woke up a row of houses when he hit mine at 2 AM ... so paid out :) Note the 12.00 dent?

Why are there so many w***ers out there that hit our cars and then drive away without any word what so ever??? :)

My next door neighbours 'friend' decided to reverse into my car at 11pm a few months ago then drove off, it was quite obvious he hit it because it stopped him, good job me and my mum saw him do it, i went straight round there, took me 5 weeks to actually speak to the guy that done it then about another 6 weeks for him to actually give me the money to get it fixed as he didn't want to go through his insurance, wonder why that is? At one point the car wasn't actually his then when i mentioned going to the police insurence etc then oh it was his car, that's when he coughed up the money!!

i pulled off the motorway into a service station a few months ago, and as i was about to get out of my car, the person parked to my left returned to his car, then proceded to smack his door pretty damn hard into my car door then got in without a second look and started eating a f*cking sandwich!!! it took all my strength to stop myself from grabbing the nearest heavy object in my car ( which happened to be an enormous spanner i like to call edna) and bash eight shades of sh*te out of his car (and his face). so i get out to 'have a word' and he drives off! what a f*cking c*nt faced c*ck gobbler!! bah just remembering it makes me angry!!

Someone drove into mine earlier this year and managed to smash the front indicator, dent the wing and pull the wheel arch trim off. I suspect it was the binmen, mainly because it happened on the day our rubbish gets collected and also because there was no damage on or below the bumper, so it must have been something fairly high. Admittedly my car is a bit scruffy anyway but it's still frustrating when it happens.

I got my revenge though, I stuck out two extra bags of rubbish the next week, that'll teach 'em!
