Turbloide2 0 Posted August 26, 2008 Hi all just come to connect my new clutch cable and the connecter on the end of the cable that goes into the arm on the gear box is a square type thing but my clutch arm is a circle hole...... Rang the motor factors up and they say thats the correct one listed for the be3 1.6 gearbox. Do all your clutch cable ends have a circle part that goes into the clutch arm then on the other side you have a plastic circle part then the big washer then 2 nuts ? Sorry if this is a bit confusing
Emmy Seize 8 Posted August 26, 2008 (edited) As written down somewhere else here, I had a lot of "fun" with clutch cables lately myself ...... The square type thing is indeed for BE3 gearboxes but it is not meant to go into the arm but into the gearbox housing. Are you sure the box hasn't been swapped? Turbloide2 0 Posted August 29, 2008 Ive just put the engine and gear box in its a 1.6 BE3 gear box so were does the square plastic part go ? cant seam to see anywere neaar the release arm..... pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted August 31, 2008 The square part fits into the gearbox casing & you should have another round part the fits into the clutch cable end lever on the gearbox. See attached image. Red U is for the cable outer end stop (square-ish) & yellow is where the actual cable end with the round plastic plug, 13mm & 10mm adjusting nuts on the threaded end fit. Graham.
