I have just bought a another 205 gti and am going to collect it some time at the weekend the guy selling it says it doesn’t work as the Immobilisers has broken and wont let the car start, is there anyway of getting round this as it would be easier to drive the car up onto my trailer,(high trailer) is it just a case of unplug or would i i have to get a new ecu, I don’t have a clue when it comes to electrics and just don’t want to buy a car that wont run, any help well appreciated cheers Callum

It all depends what immobiliser its got and how its been done. But generally all the ones ive seen only take 2-3 mins to bypass. Just look under the dash near the ecu and also sometimes in the fusebox.

follow the wires from the immobiliser, at some stage it will splice into the pug loom, whichever wires are no longer joined need rejoining. Luckily 205 looms are very simple in terms of very few wires and also poorly wrapped so finding the spliced wires will be easy. That or take another gti loom and chuck that in, assuming its not spliced into the ignition switch loom (easy bypass anyway)
