Opinion: You Reckon I Can Still Solder This Back To Life?

Woul dit be possible to solder this back to working order or do you think its just past it and cant be ressurected?

 

Pretty sure this wire is causing my starting problems because when i wiggle this around a bit, she fires.

I did an emergency "temporary" repair to mine about a year ago. I split the plug in half with a sharp knife - top to bottom - soldered the wires to the plug terminals and stuck the plug back together! Still going strong, so Yes, I reckon its very possible :)

 

Yours looks like it may be shorting between the terminals at the bottom - why not tidy up the loose strands and encase in silicone or epoxy?

or electric tape?

 

Btw what is that other wire hanging lose at the end there? Is that ground and why isnt it connected to the black connector plug?

Is it supposed to just hang there on the side like that for the ground to work?
