All Praise The GTI 3 Posted August 24, 2008 right this happened the other week on the way back from alton towers. i was on the m25 at the time and it wa dark!!! i fiddled with the dash brightness thingmy to see if it was on max then it just went dark! the indicator lights and fuel light etc work but no lights on the back. also i noticed the sidelights no longer work! i tried another adjuster with no luck. any ideas anyone? could it just be the stalk? ive only just last night driven at night again and remembered i hadnt fixed it! spikey_richie 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Sometimes the variable resistor inside the steering column goes. The little wheel underneath is mounted to a small PCB which has big thick tracks. Occasionally one or more tracks blow, leaving it useless. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
holland_gt 0 Posted September 7, 2008 the lights on my clock wasn't working for ages untill I started to fit my new headunit, I hit the clock by accident and it light up! success, suppose there must be a loose connection somewhere but hitting it seems to fix try it!
