chocolate_o_brian 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Is there any decent places to buy exhaust rubber hangers from? The back 2 on my Pug are in pretty bad nick, and I wanna replace them, but preferably with the harder plastic polythurene (sp?) ones. Only need 2, as the furthest forward is ok, I'm just concerned about the conditon of the rear ones holding the backbox on.
sonofsam 5 Posted August 24, 2008 Yes, I saw some of them in my local Halfords store yesterday, nearly got some myself. Any disadvantage to running the Polyurethane ones?!
chocolate_o_brian 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Well, I have just seen these on Ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=011 Only thing was, I didn't know what size to get? would it make much difference or harm the car in any way if the mounts were different dimensions? I fancy the plastic poly ones, as most poly buches come highly recommended over the crappy rubber standard ones.
Guest AndyD Posted August 24, 2008 I had this problem with my 205 the other week and got two from Euro car parts http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecommerce/Search_Results.asp they were only 0.68p each and have been ok. I looked at the ones on ebay. but they looked a bit overkill for my standard Pug.
hengti 2 Posted August 24, 2008 rubber ones should last a reasonable while and you shouldn't ever have them fail providing you check them regularly as you service the car (assuming you do that yourself). whenever i've felt the need for new ones, i've been able to pick them up (sometimes for nothing) just by popping to the local exhaust fitter. can't see any problem with fitting poly ones - but poly stuff does seem to be expensive

Alan_M 66 1 Cars Posted August 25, 2008 Yes, Halfords do sell them. Unfortunately, it may mean that you have to cover yourself up just incase someone spots you delving through the tat on offer in the 'Ripspeed' section
