gerlewislewis 0 Posted August 23, 2008 I have bought a 2 pin horn, as there were no 1 pin horns for sale in my whole town! The instructions say to earth the second pin if you have a 1 pin system. Where would be a suitable location to run a wire to from my horn? Im not good with electrics and knowing what is an earth point. Ideally as close to the horn as possible. Cheers Ger

pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted August 23, 2008 As the horn bolts to a metal bracket does it really need an earth? If it does then anywhere on the body will do for the earth point, even the horn bracket. Graham.
gerlewislewis 0 Posted August 23, 2008 well after not being able to get the new one to work, I re-fitted the old one and that wouldnt work either. Cleaned up a few connections, and even cleaned and copper greased the mounting bracket and the old one works fine now. Does the mounting bracket help form the curcuit/earth or is that a coincidence? Anyway, its fixed, Cheers! Thats £34 saved. Ger
Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted August 23, 2008 Does the mounting bracket help form the curcuit/earth or is that a coincidence? Ger as stated the centre mounting stud of the horn is negative and the whole body shell/chassis is negative . cool huh

Tom Fenton 1,541 Posted August 23, 2008 Did all the 1900s have the air horn? Only reason I ask is that I've a original unmodified 88 1900 and that has the twin horns like the 1600s do. They look like they have always been there, and the rest of the car is totally standard.
