Doof 11 Posted August 23, 2008 Anyone know what ARP's should be torqued up to?
boldy205 75 Posted August 23, 2008 Cant remember, but you could try calling someone who sells them/an engine builder who sells them.
16v205 9 Posted August 23, 2008 35 lb/ft You need to measure and tighten each bolt a few times before fitting them Rich
Doof 11 Posted August 23, 2008 Thanks Rich, spot on. Didn't think it was much.
Cameron 16 Posted August 24, 2008 Did you lose the distructions? Just to add a little, coat the bottom of the nuts in moly grease then tighten to 35lbft, slacken & tighten 2 more times.
petert 607 Posted August 25, 2008 You could do it that way, but that's not how a professional would do it. Done correctly, you'd measure the stretch with a micrometer.
Cameron 16 Posted August 25, 2008 Makes < 0.0000 difference.
petert 607 Posted August 27, 2008 Put the rod sub-assembly in a vice (with jaw guards of course) so you can measure the bolt length with a regular micrometer. Then you can match your torque wrench to the desired stretch.
