Is There A Special Way On Putting The Distributor Cap?

Hello Guys,

 

was wondering if anyone has come across this problem before.

 

Just installing a brand new distributor cap but i cant seem to get the bottom pin clipped on (the top goes on easily). Does it just take brute force or is there a special way to slide the clip on easily?

bottom clip first, you can tilt the cap slightly then!
