boldy205 75 Posted August 21, 2008 Hi, i have recently bought a GTi6 engine for my 205 and have noticed the rubber on the crank pully has allowed the inner/outer of the pully to move independently from each outer, common prb, so say the Autodata books. Anyone know the best place to get a good quality new one apary from Pug? I presume thay will be expensive, im thinking Pug Specialists?? Many thanks Matt
welshpug 1,657 Posted August 21, 2008 Rich_W on the gti6 forum sells alloy replacement pulleys for about teh same price as a replacement one from Peugeot, I don't know if you can get them elsewhwere.

ablister 31 Posted August 21, 2008 it's 306gti6.com wouldn't get a solid alloy one, best to get the proper rubber one as it'll be damped
boldy205 75 Posted August 21, 2008 Thanks guys! So why damp it? is is good for the engine/altenator etc?? Thanks
welshpug 1,657 Posted August 21, 2008 its said to be better for the vibrations through the crankshaft, but the 8v isnt damped at all
boldy205 75 Posted August 21, 2008 Yea i was looking at a 8v one tonight and thought that!! Ho Hum!! Will contact Rich_w And see what hes got. Many thanks
guffe 2 Posted August 22, 2008 Speculation: GTi6 is damped due higher rev range versus 8v that is solid.
boldy205 75 Posted August 23, 2008 (edited) indeed Guffe, i to was thinking that but think whats on the other end of the crank, a great big (in comparison to the pully) flywheel, obviously thats not damped, hmmm, im confused.com!!
