Rear Shocks: I Need Some Recommendations

Howdy all,

 

As im nearly finished refurbing my beam im going to do the shocks too as one is leaking. Im running Billies on the front with -40mm springs, the back is a stock 1900 beam and bars, mounted on a Group A kit, lowered 40mm ish.

 

I use it for trackdays/road use so not after anything fancy or adjustable etc, just a decent upgrade over standard stuff.

 

I had thought the best/cheapest uprade would be a set of GTI 6 dampers, i need something that is readily available so i can get it finished for the weekend, ready for Curborough

 

Any thoughts? Anyone got anything for sale?

ive got gti6 rear dampers and group A mounts and rate them highly, although i was under the impression they were the same as 205 gti ones? i changed mine from base model ones so i cant really make a comparison.

Also, how do 306 D Turbo rear shocks compare to '6 ones? Ive got a set of decent D Turbo shocks to hand, are they an upgrade for the 1900 205 items or would it be a step back?

i've recently changed my rear shoccks to bilstein o/e replacement ones. got them demon tweeks, cost about £70 the pair

 

totally transformed the rear end
