SPGTi 2 Posted August 20, 2008 I need to source for an Mi16 bottom end the following : main bearings ARP rod bolts piston rings crankshaft seals gasket set valeo clutch lighter crank pulley (does Miles sell a billet one ??? or anyone else ??) and probably a few other things. Being a cheapskate I am after the cheapest place for these items but want good quality. An example is the ARP rod bolts which I have seen available from £80 right up to £120 a set. Also the clutch seems to vary by £25 depending on supplier. Also is it advisable to get new flywheel bolts, or is reusing acceptable ?? cheers Steve
returnofjim 0 Posted August 20, 2008 for the shells, rings, seals and gaskets go to longmans there the best.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 21, 2008 For the more common parts most motor engineer's can supply the parts, I would at least get the flywheel faced off as most suffer from surface crack's etc, The Pulley's as far as I;m aware I;m the only one who has them on the shelf, A few people can make them up that I know of and thats it. The clutch (Valeo) come up cheap on ebay aswell. But I can supply everthing if you wish to drop me a PM/email
philfingers 5 Posted August 21, 2008 www.peugeotparts.co.uk worth a try for the clutch. Do you need ARP bolts? Did you get my mail? Phil
skeggyrik 3 Posted August 21, 2008 Got my Valeo clutch from GSF, if you ask for it they will get one in for you as they only list the LUK one. It was £80 odd from them. Been told since that the LUK is just as good and the friction plate has slightly larger surface area that the valeo one, make of that what you will.... Bought my rings through autosprint in Coleshill when I had the crank balanced and they were £90 for a full set through him. I got all my bearings shells from Pug, i had a mate who was working for them and he got discount so it was a good deal. Unfortunately he no longer works there. Managed to get a full set of unused payen gaskets and head bolts off chap on here in the end which was handy. Still missing a few bits so I'll be watching this thread. philfingers 5 Posted August 21, 2008 I picked up a full set of new bearings for £20 on Ebay and the seller sent them to the wrong person (who won't return them) and the seller won't send another set. Gutted! Phil
