davemar 16 Posted August 20, 2008 The last couple of days, my (well, the mrs's car) 205 1.1 (TU carb) has really struggled to start in the morning. The starter spins strongly, but it just doesn't want to fire up. It always used to fire up within two attempts, needing a fair amount of choke. But now it takes ages, and trying out lots of choke, or no choke and so on. When it does finally start it runs perfectly. In the afternoon (when leaving work, so engine cold again) so far it starts fine. The only differences between morning and afternoon is that we've had a lot of rain overnight, and the it's parked on a slope in the morning. Could moisture be getting in somewhere? davemar 16 Posted August 22, 2008 Go through the ignition system. The spark plugs were pretty grotty. I've changed them, and it started fine this morning. Should have really kept on top of such a simple thing.
