Pic Of Brake Pipes On Trailing Arm?

Recommended Posts

Rob Thomson

Hello,

Does anyone have a pic showing how the brake pipes are supposed to fit to a drum-braked rear beam?

I took mine apart so long ago I've forgotten how it all goes back together and can't figure out how the pipes or their brackets fit back on. Any pics would be really useful.

Cheers, Rob.

I can't find an exact picture of the 1.6 beam brake pipe route along the radius arm but its not really any different to the 1.9 beam except it has no flexi on the radius arm to the caliper.

The Flexi which loops round the beam goes to the bracket on the lower shock mounting bolt & the pipe goes into this flexi from the front & turns 90' instantly to run along inline with the beam for about 4" & then turns another 90' to run along the side of the radius arm. When it runs past the handbrake cable guide / carrier it bends up to the top of the radius arm & then runs along the top before turning 90' into the wheel cylinder.

This topic or the links from it might help.

Graham.

Thanks Graham.

I'll have another look at it tonight to see whether I can work it out; I think the brackets that attach to the lower damper bolts were making me scratch my head as I couldn't find a sensible way to orientate them. Anyway, thanks for your help and I'll have another look later.
