Still Can't Identify This Box...

When I went searching for a matching connector, the only ones I found came from the engine harness, and of those, one plugs into the fuse board, while the other has a pin-out of

Pin1 - 3A

Pin2 - 47B

Pin3 - 10R

Pin4 - ?????

Pin5 - 69A

Can anyone identify those wires for me so I can figure out what this box is/ does? I've had a search through the Haynes but the print is a bit too fine for me (makes my head hurt worse).

What age car is it from?

The early 1.6 engine had an oil level sensor, which I think may have gone to a non-descript black box like yours. Bit of a long shot, but you never know!

James.

It was behind the dash, above the fuse board.

I can't tell you the age of the car, unless you can tell from chassis number. It's a mixed up beast....1.9 engine (supposedly) with an early BE1 gearbox, 1.6 brake setup, phase1.5 parts inside and out.

Its definatly for the oil level sensor. Off an early 205. Tells you via the oil temp gauge IRC your oil level before you start up, Extremely unreliable from my experience. I'd seriously forget wiring that up. More trouble than its worth IMO
