Matser Cylinder(nothing About Upgrades Tho) And Fast Road Pads

Recommended Posts

Guest cooper205

i have a f plate 1.6 GTI and i need another master cylinder, as well as pads discs and callipers( which is now sorted)

1st question, whats are the differences between a bendix and a girling mastercylinder? can you use either with bendix callipers?

as i have a bendix system on my GTI

next what fastroad/race pads would you reconmend???

as i have found these on ebay Item number: 330138408701 , if any one who uses them can give any info on them, or if someone can tell me if the specs are ok that would be really usefull, also any other reconomendations greatfully received.

also if anyone has a bendix m/c for a 1600 feel free to pm with a price,

cheers

shaun

I don't think there's any significant difference between a Girling and Bendix. And it doesn't matter what calipers you're using as long as the bore's the correct diameter.

Second hand master cylinders are a complete false economy in my opinion. You can get a brand new Bendix MC from GSF for ~£25 that's as good as the one the car had when it left the factory. Or you could save yourself ten quid and get one that's probably f***ed...?

I wouldn't bother with uprated discs or pads unless you're already getting fade.

i'm going for new master cylinder just wanted to know if theres any difference between the two(were they both compatible)

as for the discs they are going to be o.e spec ones, but i want uprated pads as i was getting brake fade hence wanting higher operating temprature pads

cheers for your help rob
