Guest MattyC Posted August 9, 2008 Hi people, Im just trying to sort out the last few bits of my conversion, the engine runs sweet and i have been driving it fine but the wiring is not right yet and the time has come to get it sorted. I have no rev gauge, oil pressure or oil temp. The rest seems to work ok. When i earth the wires from the two brown connectors by the heater matrix the oil pressure and temp needles move fine. The battery light also only works when i earth the wire from the brown connectors. This suggests to be that it something on the engine side that is causing none of them to work?? Any ideas what this could be? Also when i stick the multimeter on the rev gauge wire from the engine the resistance changes as the revs change. i have pulled the dash out and found the blue connector that fits into the back of the tacho. There are three wires, obviously one is the 112 (tacho) to the engine. what are the others to? i have tried running piggy back earths and 12V to them but still nothing. Hope the above reads ok, i would be massily thankfull for somebody sparing the time to put their thoughts down. Matt
Guest MattyC Posted August 9, 2008 One other thing is the fat yellow M wire from the brown connectors by the heather matrix is not connected to anything as i cannot find it a place to connect to the citroen loom cheers again
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted August 10, 2008 sounds like half of it isnt wired, assuming your using MI ecu etc. Battery wire needs running to the alternator, it wont be charging if this isnt connected!! Also the fact the other 2 operate the oil guages when earthed show they just need connecting to the correct senders, again very simple. The fat yellow M wire is an earth strap, hook it up to a ring terminal and earth it somewhere. 3 wires on the tacho plug shouldnt need to be touched as 2 of them go into the chassis loom which shouldnt of beentouched during the MI install. The 3rd wire is part of the brown multiplugs under the dash and should be connected to the coil.
