Having Fuel Issuse

Recommended Posts

mang

Im new to this site i hope this is a worthy question

Iv got a 1.9 205 with carbs :( and iv been lookin at puttin a supercharger on it but im having second thoughts about it because i think fueling will be a problem when its on boost. I dont want to take the carbs off because i like them to much but gettin them to put more fuel in when it needs it is goin to be a pain does anyone have an idea to get over the problem or would it just not work?

It would simply be in arse to do. Boost pressure in the carbs, sealing, etc.

If you want to go the s/charger route, then ditch the carbs and go injection. It will be far easier and a much better set up.

Dell'Orto did do a version of carbs that could take turbo / supercharger pressure. There not cheap or easy to find. I cant remember the boost they can take. But standard carbs will most likely struggle. As they wont have rubber seals etc.

But yeah..injection would be much easier :P

the only way you could do it would be to enclose the webber carbs in a air tight box and the feed the forced air from the supercharger/turbo in to it.

also make a service hatch to change jetting and stuff.
