Bonnet Stay Problems

Recommended Posts

Subby

Ever since i had my 205, the bonnet stay has been loose as anything.

Tried doing the nut on the suspension turret up, and the thread snapped off.

There isnt enough to put another bolt on.

So i cannot re attach it at all.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Im just wondering the best thing to do really. Drill it out and put a nut and bolt through? Replace it with a different bonnet stay all together like more modern cars?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

what about using the hydraulic lifters things that are fitted to the boot?

i know 106s use them on the bonnet, but when open its proper vertical. with a little trial and error you could get some to work i think

if you do a search the bonnet lifters have been done before, nova ones work apparently.

That they do. I have the INXX Nova lifters, you need the 'ball end' bolts out of the boot lifters of a 106/Saxo and to cut away some of the bonnet brace also.
