Rich_p 23 Posted August 6, 2008 As I have a cage on the way for the track 309 I'm looking into getting bucket(s), harness(es) and a helmet. Am I best off going for side or base mount seats? I'm only 5'8 but I still feel I sit to high up in the standard seats as it is, I prefer to be sat lower in cars. Am I right in thinking side mount would be a better option for me as they can be mounted a lot lower?
Baz 421 Posted August 6, 2008 There's alot more side mounted seats on the market and they tend to be better ones too, and for the reason you mentionned. Do away with or at least beef up the std mounts though, as they're rubbish!
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted August 6, 2008 My present ones are base mounted subframes but I've got some more for my next track car that are side mounted. I got the base mounted ones cheap with subframes so I'll be interested to see (& feel) the difference but I'd only get side mounted ones if I was looking for some more. Graham. MrG 3 Posted August 7, 2008 my next lot will be side as my current ones sit me too high, good job mine has a sunroof as my head when wearing a helmet sits neatly in the recess?
