Replacing Tired Immobiliser And Keyfob

Recommended Posts

Hi !

Ever since ive had my mi 205, ive been wary of the keys, as i have only had one set of everything. Also the keyfob is held together with tape...

Im looking to either get spares, or replace both systems with one system (ie toad)

I have a bullet type immobiliser, and a random keyfob, which im not sure if it is OEM ?

Heres what i have got:

I think the easiest option would be to get an alarm engineer to come and fit one, and get him to rip all my old stuff out?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

i dont know if mine has an immobiliser or not but my key fob thing for the central locking does not look like anything in your picture. mine is a little grey piece with a red lens. not that it works mind you..

sorry, i dont have any pictures of it mate

i've fitted a toad ai606 alarm and would recommend it, cosst approx £100. I installed it myself and had no problems what so ever(needed to adjust the sensitivity of the ultrasonics as the non airtight 205 would allow breezes in in a strong wind which would set it off :) it comes with a single fob that will conrtol your central lockign aswell as the alarm and immobiliser.

As for they key i've also used an ignition barrel and key from a peugeot 206. It's a direct replacement although i may have needed to join the wires to the 205 ones as i donthink the plug was the same. They key is a lot beefier. My cars delocked so i don't have any door or boot locks so having the 1 key for ignition wasn't a problem but might be annoying if you have normal doors and boot.
