24seven 104 Posted August 5, 2008 How many teeth are on the cambelts for these engines? I've found several different length belts for these engines, 114, 136 and 153, but have no idea which one's right for my engine. I also need a set of tensioners. It's out of a '99 306. welshpug 1,657 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) only one belt length for the XU7J4, 136T. 0816 98 (same belt as used on the 10J4R+RS) 2 different tensioners however, one manual and one sprung, 0831 57 is the kit with the sprung tensioner, 0831 67 is the manual tensioner belt kit, both kits are the same price £78.28. I prefer the manual tensioner, which you can retrofit by fitting the stud just like the gti6 setup (same part infact) 0820 17 SCREW COLUMN £2.74 and the appropriate bolt 6923C0 SELF-TAP SCREWS £0.49 Edited August 5, 2008 by welshpug

24seven 104 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) hehe Just looking at those, is there only a single tensioner on this engine? or is there a pair like on the Mi16? I'd expected it would be a pair, but I'm getting the impression that there may be only one. Edited August 5, 2008 by 24Seven
welshpug 1,657 Posted August 5, 2008 they are like the gti6/xsi engines, single tensioner on the back run and an idler in the front run of the belt, with adjustable cam pulleys.
