Cheapest Place For Corbeau Seats...?

Recommended Posts

oli-pug

Fed up with getting thrown around on trackdays so i'm finally going to invest in a pair of buckets, harnesses and a cage!

Through general recommendation and reputation, i've decided Corbeau or Sparco are the way to go. I really love the Sparco Evo but was also looking at the Corbeau Pro for driver and a sprint as a passenger seat. I'm a big fan of the Schroth range of harnesses and i'll probably go for a Custom Cages cage as they're a mile down the road from me.

Now does any one know of a nice cheap friendly place to buy these, demon tweeks are taking the michael, Gpr are ludicrously expensive and so are merlin! Not a lot seems to turn up on ebay anymore either...

Peterllyod rallying was the cheapest place I found really friendly service, I got two Pro-Spo excels, mint seats. (Nicola's very nice on the phone)

I had Evo's in my car before, but the lack of high leg support p*ssed me off suitably to upgrade, can recommend both highly can sit in them for hours. Although I sort of wish I'd gone all out for a revolution for the drivers seat :)

I've got a kermit green sparco corsa for sale if you want something cheap B)

You're right mate, they're pretty cheap there. Thanks! B)

I know what you mean about the evo's leg support isn't the best but they are undeniably comfy, i could easily travel europe in them! The Revolution is a nice seat, the boss has one in his race elise. Bit ott for what i'm using mine for though i think!

I'll pass on the green sparco :) unless you have some good fabric dye. Would look a bit lairy in a red car eh!

Yeah I planned to dye it black if I kept it, but truth is I'm too "big" for it :P Hence getting the XL's weirdly I fit snuggly in the Pro2000 and the Circuit Pro-S (but my shoulder touched the wings :) ) thought a Corsa would be a half way leg support no wings, but it's like 1" narrower so snug turns to pelvis shattering B)B) good one sparco.

But I was set on the leg support so the Pro-Spo XL it was, looks almost the same as the corsa just I fit in it, not as snug as I want, but I get the leg support and no doubt as I get older I'll "fill" it better

The Sprint it noticably narrower than the Pro-Spo, I ordered an XL for the ballast side, but couldn't comfortabely get in that :s how weird??

Last bit the weight is different for every seat check out the QC sticker, I've got something like 900grams different between two of the same seats :s

Prob too far..but they do sell direct, mainly very slight seconds.

Often hard to get a matching set, unless they messed up 2 :)

I used to live down that way, knew a fair few ppl who brought direct. Always seconds, not sure if they sell good stock direct.

Oh.. 'that way' is East Sussex, near Hastings

The pug I'm driving at the moment has a Sparco EVO, I use it for long journeys on the road and I think its great. The thing with seats is they are very personal so the advice of others won't necessarily apply to you.

Have to agree with Kieran above, i've tried a good few seats and not all are as good for some than others.

James's old Evo's were nice i found, but again the leg support were an issue, so i got some Sparco Revs, as they have a little extra at the leg. I have a Corbeau Revolution too, and that's very nice. I fear not for any larger people though... :D

Also have a Cobra Imola and that's fairly comfy too, would be ok for someone slightly larger too!

Try them all is all I will say, I fit the Sparco one's well but have never got on with the Corbeau personally, Also the build quality is better on the Sparco's I think compared with allot of makes
