What Is This Pipe?

Recommended Posts

I have removed the std intake manifold from my car, and there is a pipe that fixes into the underside of it, appears to come from near the SAD? What is this for? Is this part of the emission system?

Thanks

AG

It actually comes from the SAD!

It's where the air from the SAD re-enters the inlet manifold. The SAD varies the amount of air allowed through it to control the idle speed.

Thank you rob/steve, thats much appreciated.

This SAD thing is gradually being understood. There's also what appears to be a pipe that comes from the back that leads into the air trunking elbow between the afm and the TB, what would that be for? Expel excess air into the intake for the emmission system?

Pretty sure thats the inlet to SAD,air goes in through that hose,is then regulated by SAD,then it by-passes the throttle body and into your inlet manifold, this air then raises your idle.
