pete1986 2 Posted August 2, 2008 (edited) There are two ring connectors routing back from below the header tank, one has red/black and blue/yellow wires, the other has red and blue wires. The first wire reaches as far as the horn and the second only reaches as far as the battery. They wernt attached to anything, and the only thing that isnt working is the horn. But i dont see how they could connect to it, esspecially as one wont reach. Anyone know what these are for?? Also, i noticed that the dizzy cap has cracked: What could of caused this? And lastly, what the hell is this? Cheers Pete Edited August 2, 2008 by pete1986
welshpug 1,666 Posted August 2, 2008 2nd pic is the dim dip resistor, should be clipped to the panel under the headlamp.
pete1986 2 Posted August 3, 2008 Cheers welshpug. The clip was broken but just cable tied it back. Can anyone shed some light on the two ring connectors?
GLPoomobile 958 Posted August 3, 2008 Cheers welshpug. The clip was broken but just cable tied it back. Can anyone shed some light on the two ring connectors? Pete, you're going to need to get that cable tie off ASAP! Those resistors get fecking hot, so it'll melt the cable tie. Either use a metal cable tie (like the ones used on CV boots) or use a metal P clip.
pete1986 2 Posted August 3, 2008 Really?! Didnt know that, how about a jubilee clip? Im sure theres a few lying about in my garage.
Tom Fenton 1,548 Posted August 3, 2008 Jubillee clip will do, I can confirm it will melt a cable tie. As for the dizzy cap, most likely cause is the rotor arm has come loose and when spinning has twatted the inside of the cap and bust it. I'd be suprised if it runs like that! pete1986 2 Posted August 3, 2008 It runs ok, a bit more lumpy perhaps. Iv put some tape over it for the time being untill i get a new one on monday/tuesday. I take it its best to get a new rotor arm as well then?
