Andy F 0 Posted August 1, 2008 hi when i bought my car the fan only seems to work on the fastest setting it goes hot and cold just only works on the fastest setting. Ive currently got the car in pieces getting ready to be resprayed and cant see any obvious problem. Any ideas? Thanks
CaptainP 2 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) This could be down to the heater resistor. It's right next to the fan and usually has either 4 or 5 wires on (depending on year of car). It's worth whipping it out and having a look for any signs of rust. I replaced mine a while back as I only had one speed on my fan also. Regards Steve Just had a search on ebay. Item number: 380048530313 is a heater resistor for a 205. Edited August 1, 2008 by CaptainP
Junosix 0 Posted August 4, 2008 Was thinking of posting something similar - had my 205 for a month and the chap I bought it off said that the heater resistor was an issue. Was going to get it off his mate and give me a call, but after a couple of chase-ups, nothing... Is this something I can whip out of a standard 205 (would assume it is?) and if so, how do I get to it? Is it a question of taking the three heater dials off, unscrewing the two screws and having a look behind that? Hopefully that's something I can get from a scrapyard rather than having to pay the £20 on eBay.
