Spring Rate Please, If Anyone Knows.

Recommended Posts

brianthemagical

Hi peeps. I'm after some spring rates of standard springs please if anyone knows them. I'd like standard GTi, standard n/a diesel and Saxo VTR if anyone has them to hand or can point me in the right direction please. Also, the minimum free length of a spring for use in standard GTi dampers.

Thanks peeps.

i would imagine the vtr one to be around 120lb and the same for the 205 gti, diesel maybe a bit softer at 100lb - thats best guess so can be taken with a pinch of salt :(

When i ordered my coilovers I didn't know what spring rate to get so asked him to send me 'whatever everyone else gets'..!!he sent me 200lb springs..!!and they were waaaay too stiff..so i got them to send me softer ones and they sent 160lb ones..they were better but still alot stiffer than standard ones so id guess Batfinks guess is about right..

Thanks for the help. Saxo's are 36.5cm free length and slightly stiffer than 34cm 205 GTI. I s'pose the extra length of the derv springs accounts for the extra weight in a softer spring. I suppose 120lb will be close enough for estimates. Thanks again.
