tom_m 0 Posted July 29, 2008 its got more lift and duration yes, but its also got a lot of overlap, so you'll end up pissing all you boost straight out the exhaust valves. hence the desire for the DKZ cam, which is very similar but with much less overlap. veloce200 3 Posted August 4, 2008 the 1.9 cam is ideal for a turbo it's assymetrically ground and the overlap is on the inlet only so its ideal for turbo engine...

veloce200 3 Posted August 4, 2008 can anyone else prove this as i dont wanna do it to find out that its s**t look at the figures ___________1.6 1.9 Sri In/opens____8 11.5 1 In/closes____42 43 48 Duration____230 234.5 234 LCA________107 105.75 111 Ex/Opens___40.5 46 43 Ex/Closes__2.5 2 1 LCA_______109 112 111 Duration____223 228 224 i am also using a 1.9gti engine completely standard with a turbo. still not had it rolling roaded yet but I would bet A LOT of money that it would easily produce a lot more power for same level of boost than a 2.0 with the standard turbo cam. you only have to look at turbo cams to see overlap at tdc on inlet only is the answer if you want more power up top - take a look at www.catcams.be (unfortunately only works with Internet Explorer) and look at some of the wrx cams - look at lca on inlet and exhaust and also lift at tdc on inlet and exhaust. you will see contrary to popular opinion even some lift at tdc on exhaust is acceptable.
