weejimmy 1 Posted July 30, 2008 the blocks not ment to be t16 just the internalls it was built up in france i think so im not shure whats what
B1ack_Mi16 67 Posted July 30, 2008 the blocks not ment to be t16 just the internallsit was built up in france i think so im not shure whats what Crankshaft from T16 will have 4 counterweights, all other 86mm stroke crankshafts have 8 counterweights. Rods from T16 will have 26mm wide big end, while rods from other 2.0 XU engines will be around 24mm wide. Pistons shall be flat top ones and sit approx 4-5mm down the bore at TDC if they're T16 ones. Think that's more or less what you need to know. When that's said, apart from the forged crank, I'm not convinced that either rods or pistons from T16 are any stronger than regular S16 ones, it's just that they give the low compression. weejimmy 1 Posted July 30, 2008 exelent thanks for that man i think ill check crank and rods but ill not bother taking head off.
cybernck 402 1 Cars Posted July 30, 2008 what Kristian said . heads are the same bar the cams and exhaust valves, but you'd want S16 cams anyway .
weejimmy 1 Posted July 30, 2008 i take it exhaust valves are bigger on t16?. do you know the sizes? why do i want s16 cams over t16 and how do i tell as if they are t16 i mite need to get some s16.

Exhaust valves are not bigger, just same size as Mi16 and S16, but they are sodium filled, which will give better cooling. About the cam's I'm not 100% sure, but I think the T16 only has lift to about 7.5mm and S16 is more like 9mm max lift. Of course the duration also is bigger on S16 ones.
