hi3afp 0 Posted July 28, 2008 HI I Got a 405 mi16 (usa version dfw engine) complete with all auxiliaries, but not loom/Ecu. Can i use a 405 mi16 (dfw) afm, Tdc, icv, tps... in a BX loom, 2 row ecu. Best.
jackherer 543 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) Yes using a 405 ECU with a BX loom works fine as long as they both have the same number of rows. edit: I just read your post more carefully, you have a BX loom AND ECU? They will both work with the 405 AFM, TDC, ICV and TPS but if the ECU is for a D6C rather than DFW it may cause issues. It will probably be OK though, I use a D6C ECU, loom and all ancilleries on a RFY engine with no problems! Edited July 28, 2008 by jackherer

Can i run it ? or better to get the DFW managment (not easy here). Or use the 8v Jetronic with dizzy adaptor .

Or use the 8v Jetronic with dizzy adaptor . Yes, it will run fine. There just won't be any connection to the lambda or knock sensors. The DFW and later D6C (Motronic 1.3) management is better but run with what you've got. I can supply a chip with any code if required.

Thanks, Pete I will use what i got right now and later try to get a DFW Loom + Ecu. What are main difference between the Motronic DFW/D6C and the older 2 row BX management. The use of lambda, Knock better Mapping... ? Best Edited July 29, 2008 by hi3afp
