djinuk 2 Posted July 26, 2008 My 205 xs has always been a thirsty bugger and always smelt of fuel, so i decided to remove the tank to see if there were any leaks, after removing the tank i saw no leaks, however i did see a very perished breather hose coming from the top, will this cause the problem, ive included pics also i am just wondering should i instant gasket these fuel sender and filter that fit in the top of the tank when i put it back together. hengti 2 Posted July 26, 2008 it might account for the smell (although doesn't it run outside of the car?) but not the fuel consumption as it's just a breather it's worth tracing all of the fuel lines to check that leaks aren't evident elsewhere - difficult with fuel though as it evaporates
djinuk 2 Posted July 26, 2008 ive took the fuel line off, thats fine no problems there, just out of interest is fuel hose expensive ?
Jrod 7 Posted July 26, 2008 No, less than £2 a metre usually.

Jrod 7 Posted July 26, 2008 Local motor factors or even halfrauds if you can't find anywhere else.
