mogsman 2 Posted July 26, 2008 Hi all, does anyone know what type of grease is used for the sliders? Ian
alync406 4 Posted July 26, 2008 You should be ok using copper grease.
welshpug 1,657 Posted July 26, 2008 (edited) I usually use the grease that comes in the sachet with the new sliders, or Moly grease. Copper grease actually has particles of metal in it which could cause more wear to the slider, IIRC it was pugtorque that reminded me of this, so its not really suitable for bearing surfaces. GLPoomobile 958 Posted July 26, 2008 As above, DON'T use copper grease!
mogsman 2 Posted July 26, 2008 Thanks for the replies. I've found some red rubber grease so I'll put some in. Ian
swordfish210 20 Posted July 26, 2008 I'v allways found CV joint grease to be hugely effective.
DamirGTI 342 Posted July 26, 2008 I wouldn't use either of two types mentioned , in fact theres special temp. resistance grease for brake components , for this precise purpose (manufactured by ATE , TRW , Permatex etc. ) Ask around , you should be able to buy one in some better equipped car part store Rgs !
