How Do Bbm Solid Rear Mounts Fit?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I got some Baker type A solid rear mounts today. Now I accept that I might be a little slow or thick but the nylon part does not fit the aperture in the beam.

The hole is about 25mm in diameter and the nylon rod is about 30mm. What is wrong? Should they be pressed into each other or does the beam part need something doing to it?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Jonny

You've removed the rubber bush but left the sleeve in there! The fun really begins now, getting those bastards out!

Bollo©ks, I thought it was rather easy to get the old ones out.

So what is the best way to get them out?

they come out very easy, just slide a hacksaw through the middle

those metal sleeves were a pig on mine, one both sides to each bush, I broke a 'handy' flat bladed screwdriver doing mine and with all that hammering my wrist hurt!

Glad I'm not the only one with a bad experience. From what I've read they are normally straight forward to get out, so it seems that when they are easy they are really easy, but when they are a pig they really are an absolute double hard bastard pig!

I used the hacksaw on mine too. My main thing was, I didnt realize how thin they were. I actually sawed a bit too deep. Have yet to try them as well, but hopefully really soon.
