Bakes100 20 1 Cars Posted July 23, 2008 Hi Guys May be needing to remove my Gti6 exhaust manifold in the near future! Whats involved?, will i need to completely remove the subframe or can it be removed an easier way?? Thanks
gti-si 0 Posted July 23, 2008 Brave, but it can be done. You can possibly get to it without subframe removal to be honest, but either way, it's going to be hardwork. I'd suggest buying a 13mm ratchet spanner from halfords. You can't get a socket on most of them even with the engine out. This might be a fair bit easier
James_R 3 Posted July 23, 2008 Once the heat sheld is off the top at th eback of the rocker cover you (4 10mm bolts) You can reach the top nuts from the top, and the bottom ones from the gap between the subframe and the back of the engine as per putting on an Mi exhust mani of similar, as said a 13mm rachet spanner will be your friend although it may have those "special" (reads utter bast*ds) 10mm start nut things with the wide base, hate those!!
