Gasket Sealant

Recommended Posts

skinner2k3

I have a coolant leak from between my carb manifold and cylinder head.

A new gasket has been fitted and all the nuts are tight. Both the engine face and manifold face was cleaned up before fitting.

My only thought is that the manifold could be warped.

I really dont want to have to strip all the carbs back off to machine the face, so was thinking of these liquid gasket products.

If anyone has any views on what could be causing it or what I should do about it I would be gratefull to hear them.

Cheers

Ben

What i usually do when i have leaky inlet manifold gasket is this (on some engines i need to do this always when fitting new inlet manifold gasket ..) : rub some sealant on to the gasket , but not too much ! just smear some on the both gasket surfaces and rub it inside with your fingers (kinda soak it with sealant , so that it became tacky ..) when the gasket changes color slightly your done , clean the mating surfaces , refit the gasket , tighten the bolts ...

Im using Loctite products for some time now , and never ever had any problems .. they're good quality brand

Rgs ! :)
