Mi16 Thermostat

ANDYMISIXTEEN

I was going to change my Mi16 Thermostat today but relised i didnt get any rubber gaskets with the new one and the old ones are perished. The new thermostat has a little pin where the gasket sits on the old one and the edge is raised where as the old one was flat. Have i got the wrong thermostat or am i just missing the gaskets? It does sit in the hole but the old one is longer.

its a little valve to let air bubbles through not a pin :D

looks more like an XU10 stat though (not 100% if there's a difference mind)

Just a later and different make of stat, But are you running the crappy water pipe at the back along the cam cover? if not then a std 205 stat is fine or I would block this pipe up as it's not needed on the 205 and only something else to leak and get in the way.

Does that raised bit get trapped between the cover and the thermostat housing then?

If you run the silly pipe then no ideally you need the proper stat to run properly!
