munster 0 Posted July 22, 2008 (edited) Just trying to work out the cryptic codes on the GSF website. I want the rear shocks for a 205 gti. https://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/results.asp Do i want p/n N45614 or N45614A? whats the difference? thanks ps. Ive seen GSF mentioned on here a few times, so i assume their parts are pretty good? Edited July 22, 2008 by munster
welshpug 1,657 Posted July 22, 2008 the price and quality are what differs, N45614 is £25 each, N45614A is £17.10. although having fitted some used items to my 205 recently I would go for some 306 sport spec dampers T45618 £28.50. really good ride with these and they are closer to the spec of the original GTi dampers (gti6 and 205 gti use the same damper) from Peugeot they would be 5206 K6, £37.96 each. munster 0 Posted July 22, 2008 right thanks. i wonder how they exactly they differ.. ive been offered a set of used original shocks for £25, but i think im better off going with the new 'cheaper' shocks. the price and quality are what differs, N45614 is £25 each, N45614A is £17.10. although having fitted some used items to my 205 recently I would go for some 306 sport spec dampers T45618 £28.50. really good ride with these and they are closer to the spec of the original GTi dampers (gti6 and 205 gti use the same damper) from Peugeot they would be 5206 K6, £37.96 each. welshpug 1,657 Posted July 22, 2008 I wouldn't use the cheaper shocks of the 3 advertised, the second hand originals would be better if they are truly gti spec and in good condition damping rate and medium is how they differ, if you place all 3 next to each other youll also notice that the body of the GTi spec items is much larger in diameter, so much so that there's an indentation in the body to make them fit.
