Torsion Bars, Which Is Left Hand, Which Is Right Hand?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I always thought that torsion bars had either one or two rings to identify them, two denoting left hand, one for right hand.

What do three mean?

Will it make my car go faster?

They are white in colour.

Thanks

Jonny

They should have, are the three rings all the same (as each other & the two on the other bar? )

IIRC the id rings are etch painted on & smooth in the bar with the original coating so if they are raised they are marks someone else has added.

Didn't you mark them yourself before you took it apart as advised?

Graham.

Err No, that would be far too sensible. Is there any way of identifying them?

I will have a proper look at the rings tomorrow.

The only way to identify them is by the original markings or by marking them before dismantling the beam.

Have you got any decent pictures of the whole beam from before you took it apart?

Thanks Welshpug, I was getting a bit worried.

The other ones are white, thicker and closer to the middle.

Yeah, I agree those look like the original markings.
