Removing And Refitting Bumpers And Trim

Recommended Posts

Well i am currently putting a new set of bumpers onto my 205, however looking at the rusted up brackets its going to be a complete nightmare, i cant even make out whats going on with it, why couldnt pug of just bolted it :).

Whats the usual that people do, i could just chop the bracket of but are these silly prices to replace from the dealer.

I intend to do this soon, I tried to get the front bumper off when I swapped the engine, but the bolts just turned inside the plastic bumper.

I think the only way is to cut/hack through the outside of the bumper to get to the back of the bolts, then grind them off.

To me that seems easier that getting the grinder in under the wheel arch.

As I said, you drill the square head off the bolts (located under the red strip) which enables you to pull the bolt through from inside the arch.
