Help Fitting New Wing, sheered Nut Also Hole In Sill

Recommended Posts

reuben205

Hello, jut wondered if a few of you guys can help me.When removing my driver wing the bolt that goes into the inner arch was seized and damaged the nut along with it that was fixed to the body.

Now i need to find a way to fix the inner edge of the wing to the car bodyr.Any ideas as there is no thread for the bolt to go through. I was thinking of pot riveting the inner edge to the car body and spray over?

remove the wing and I'm sure you should be able to get at the rear of the area where the captive nut has come off, you can buy replacements, or just wend a nut on.

if that really is the only area of rust on the car just cut the bad metal out and replace it with some new metal shaped to suit and welded in, Tom Fenton has carried out a repair similar to this just on the opposing end of the sill.
