Recommended Posts

Equinoxe

Sow little info:

First of all the whole engine as been rebuild 2-3months ago sow the engine is at his best.

Have been running it on the 8v management jettronic with dizzy adaptor.

Is has always run fine rev'd nice etc etc

But jeah, I want it to do properly, sow I have converted ii to the MI loom, motronic ecu ,ingition,....

Ecu type:Motronicwith knocking sensor without lamba

HT-parts are al brand new.

It starts fine and idle nice

But it won't rev al the way (7300)!!!

When flooring it the engine hesitate and he rev just at 3500 sometimes 4000 it wont go higher (similar to launch control effect run-cut-run-cut-run) :)

Thats thus the big big problem don't know anymore what the problem could be as he starts and idle nice

ANy help would be appriciated.

Sorry for the not exactly perfect english :D

will it rev to the redline when not in gear, or does it not rev above 4k even when standing still.

If it does run to 7k then maybe fueling issue. Blocked fuelf filter, injector issue. Basically not even fuel getting through?

it wont rev on the road neither neutral

fuel filter can't be as it was driving good before converting to the MI loom.

Injectors were also working fine

Change the ignition amp - for an older Bosch one.

I had a misfire on mine, changed the Ignition amp for a ducillier one and it wouldn't rev over 900rpm. Changed it for a brand new Bosch one (which looks different to the old one) and it wouldn't rev over 3500rpm.

Fittted an identical 20 year old one and it revs lovely.

Another vote for ignition amp here as well, I bought a 405 Mi16x4 off ebay some years ago with the same problem, e.g. big misfire about 4k rpm. This one would actually drive through it and clear eventually. Changed all sorts of things as I had another 405 Mi16 at the time, in the end it was the ignition amp that was at fault.

You never gess it but thats the module I ve,

And the spare one is alsow the same, and chanching them does take any effect...

Sow it must be something else.

Started it again to day, running idle lumpy(maybe ecu temp sensor can cause the poor idle and low revs?)

Owhje IMPORTANT; I joined the 2 looms myself

motronic and Jetronic AFM's are not compatible, have you physically checked if the flap is sticking?

what you can do is to remove the black cover, you can then see the needle of the AFM moving.
