Tommer 0 Posted July 16, 2008 hi gang, 205 failed its mot today, rear beam as suspected so no shock there, i now want to get this sorted asap. does anyone have a list of parts / bearings etc needed for the rear beam refurb? had a quick search but the 24 pages of results didn't offer my any joy. cheers in advance. tommer Ps. it also failed on: offside rear fog lamp not working nearside outer brake hose perished offisde front suspension arm ball joint excessive play .36 too high exhaust emissions. jimistdt 1 Posted July 16, 2008 (edited) I have found this thread by welshpug http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...t++number++beam hope it is of some use... Edited July 16, 2008 by jimistdt
welshpug 1,657 Posted July 16, 2008 apart from the beam not a bad list at all, though the "offisde front suspension arm ball joint excessive play" means you need a complete wishbone emissions not too bad either, if that's the CO, a bit of fettling or a new Coolant temperature sensor could sort that. Fog Lamp could be anything from a bulb, to a dodgy switch.
jimistdt 1 Posted July 16, 2008 Good point about the Fog Lamp switch, mine almost got a fail on it but the connector had come off the back of the switch on the dash. Reconnected and it was fine.
Tommer 0 Posted July 16, 2008 cheers for the link thats well handy! yeah not to worried about the ball joint, as a simple wishbone swap will sort that, same with the fog light easy enough to make it work and the emiisions just a bit of a mixture adjustment should solve that.... if the rear beam is toast and i am looking at a replacement do you reckon I should go for the 309 replacement, same for the wishbones? whatya reckon? cheers for all the comments tommer
