Bulkhead Grommet For Main Engine Loom

Recommended Posts

GLPoomobile

When I finally get my new loom done, I'm going to need to fit a new grommet. The one that was on there has been slit through one side, presumably so that the wiring could be slid into it from the side rather than feeding the loom in through the end and pulling it through. I'm assuming the grommet isn't supposed to be like this as it doesn't seal properly and leaves a nice big gap for water to get in, and the loom was actually sat in the slit rather than snuggly in the center :(

I've trawled Servicebox and I cannot for the life of me find anything that I can say 100% is the correct part (I reckon it shouldn't be more than a few quid so I'm happy to buy new from Pug) I've looked through the 205, 405 and even 306 parts. And I've looked through the nuts and bolts section that also includes plugs and what looks like grommets. I've found items that look very similar to what is in front of me, but none of them seem to have the right dimensions (assuming they use mm, all the parts are way too small).

Does/can anyone either

1 - know the correct part number?

2 - find the part I need on Servicebox?

3 - Suggest a suitable aftermarket grommet?

4 - Have a 2nd hand one in useable condition they can sell me?

I think all the wiring bits (such as looms, grommets, wiring diagrams etc) for most models has now been moved into the subscription section of the site. It certainly had been on the Citroen site when I was looking for some parts on my Xsara.

I found that a BX16v one fits fine (easier to fit that the original peugeot one) even if you slit one side to get the loom wires in rather than feeding it through.

Water getting in isn't really as issue when it's not fitted, it's the engine noise. The car was way quieter when I fitted it properly, a tiny gap makes the engine noise in the cabin awful.

puzzled me this one, because the harnesses don't have diagrams, and there is only one Grommet/plug listed for it and it marked "except injection"

698353 BULKHEAD PLUG 0.58 GBP

BULKHEAD PLUG DIAM 50 - EXCEPT INJECTION

have found the grommet section elsewhere though....

Why not try and get a second hand one, they still seem relatively supple. I expect that when you find the right part it will be expensive but I am happy to be proven wrong

I have a few looms about in various states of dis-repair ( and at least 1 good one) I'll see if I can dig up a decent grommet
